How to deal damage with a chicken peck - Fortnite is one of the best Battle Royales to play with the whole family, with new updates and exciting new challenges being added to the game all the time, including themed challenges in its unique events.

In Avian Ambush week, you can use the silly chicken creatures that roam the map and complete various tasks with them to earn XP and additional levels for the battle pass. You can even use a chicken to deal damage to your enemies. That is how!

Chicken locations in Fortnite

As you can see on the map below, there are plenty of chickens that will work for your avian challenges. However, they do tend to roam and it can take a bit of time to catch them. They are found in greater abundance towards the desert biome and around some named places.

While you may find them scattered throughout the wild, you'll have a better chance of locating them in some of these marked areas. You might want to stop by any of the following locations for a quick run and grab when the match starts:

• Lustrous Lagoon
• Contaminated towers
• Southeast of Greasy Grove
• East of Flutter Barn
• Chonker Expressway
• Cloudy condos

How to deal damage with a chicken peck in Fortnite

Once you find a chicken, you will have to collect it. This can be challenging as these chickens will run away from you as fast as they can. Run next to it, and once the option appears, press the button to collect them:

Now that you have the chicken in your possession, your jumps will allow you to fall back to the ground slowly and if done correctly you can also damage other players or animals that try to attack you. 

You will need to be close to do this successfully, as the chicken can only peck at what is directly in front of its beak. Get close to your target and aim the chicken at it. Whatever you do, don't let go of the chicken. The chicken will automatically peck at any opposing force directly in front of it.

You will have to take a few pecks to complete the challenge. The easiest target to use is other animals that are attacking you, like a boar or a wolf, or even another chicken. The chicken doesn't peck very quickly, so trying to do this with enemy players can be a bit more difficult. Completing this challenge for Avian Ambush can increase your XP and help you earn some levels before the season change.
