Fortnite Vending Machine Locations Map || Malfunctioning vending machine locations
Vending machine locations fortnite - The Fortnite vending machine locations were an addition to the Epic Games Battle Royale mode that was made in early 2018, and have undergone some slight revisions since then.
Added throughout the map, these various vending machine locations allow you to purchase loot from their rotating list to help you recharge. The loot and its rarity is random, so don't expect them to shake up the meta too much, but it could come in handy if you have something wooden or metal burning a hole in your pocket.

How do vending machines work in Fortnite?
As for the things you'll need to find for many Fortnite challenges, the location of the vending machines are not in fixed places on the map. Instead, think of them more like chests, dropped in predictable places.

But they don't always appear in the exact same place - or in that place at all - from game to game. So how do you narrow down the location of fortnite vending machines? Easier said than done, especially since they are quite small and hard to spot from the Battle Bus, but are visible from a distance if you look at them from afar. Vending machines tend to spawn more in cities and populated areas, and not in the middle of the wild, but there are some exceptions. Here is a map made by the LootLake_info community on reddit.
We've tried to confirm this ourselves with some degree of success (with spawns changing from game to game it's hard to tell if they're exactly the same places they can spawn in the new season 9) so the map above is a good place to start at least, if not a definitive set of places. The fact that vending machines don't spawn in predictable places should ultimately be a good thing. Since it won't affect the meta too much, but it can give you the option to pick a loot if you need it and manage to find one.
Fortnite vending machines explained
Introduced as part of the Fortnite "Content Updates" initiative - introducing new content without requiring a large-scale game update. Vending machines first appeared across the map to give players a chance to get new loot mid-game. Previously, vending machines had a cost: you had to give them a certain amount of materials to be able to buy the items. The higher the rarity level of an item, the more materials it would cost: 400 materials for epic loot, 500 for legendary, and so on.
Now, however, they work a bit differently: Items available from a vending machine are available for free. It will still work with various options, always at a certain rarity level, so a purple machine just for the epic era could be one, and so on, and you just have to interact with the machine when it stops at the item you want. Available loot will cycle through items in a short amount of time. To switch from one item to another faster, hit with your pickaxe, which is useful if you're in a hurry.

You can only buy one item, and then the vending machine will disappear, having been "consumed" by you using it, so choose wisely!
