1. Change Skin Fortnite
As it may seem strange, users have reported that changing the Skin has fixed the bug and they can rejoin the friend's party. Here's how to do it.
- Start Fortnite and log in.
- Click on the Locker tab in the top menu.
- In the Account & Team section, click on your current Skin.
- Now you can see all the Skin collection you have. Click on any of the available Skins and Fortnite will apply the Skin to your character.
- You can further customize the character if you wish.
- Now go back into the game and join a random solo game and wait until you are in the lobby.
- Accept the invitation once your friends send you an invitation to join the party.

2. Change lobbying to public and join without invitation
Another solution to fix the unable to join a friend error in Fortnite is to change the lobby to public and then join the party without the invite.
- Launch Fortnite and go to Settings Menu.
- At the top right, click Private and select Public.
The only downside here is that you can't just have your friends join the party. After changing the lobby to public, you should be able to join the party without the invite.
3. Join your friends through the Epic Friends List
You can also try to join the friend's party through the Epic game friends list. However, you must first add your friends to your Epic account using their Epic username or email address. Once added, you can invite them to join the party, that's how it's done.
- Launch Fortnite on your Windows system.
- In the Fortnite Menu, click on the Friends tab.
- Click Add Friend Option.
- Enter the Epic username or email address and send the friend request.
- Once your friend accepts the request, try joining the party again and check if the error is resolved.
- If you are an Xbox user, you need to use your friend's Xbox Gamertag to add them to Fortnite.

4. Download Fortnite Save the Word content
Another user-reported fix is to enable the Save Fortnite Word option in settings. Here's how to do it.
- On your PC, exit the game if it is running.
- Relaunch the Fortnite game launcher.
- Right-click Settings (gear icon) and select Options.
- Under "Fortnite Installation Options", check the "Fortnite Save the World" option.
- Click Apply to save the changes.

5. Temporary server problem
If none of the troubleshooting tips helped you fix the error, it may be a temporary server issue at the end of Fortnite.
