Before you begin the gifting process, you will need to choose a skin or item from the Item Shop. Items in your inventory will not be eligible for gifting as they are essentially account-bound and there is no such thing as trading in Fortnite.

Open the Item Shop in the top section of the main menu and take a look around the Shop to see if there is anything worth giving away.

Once you decide which item to gift, you will need to click on it. You will be directed to the preview page where you can see the look or item yourself before gifting. You will see an information box at the top left of the screen, which will have two buttons: "Buy" and "Buy as a gift." Choose "Buy as a gift."

You will be asked to choose a recipient from your friends list. Make sure you choose the right person, as picking up gifts once they reach their final destination is a bit of a hassle. After choosing a recipient, you can also personalize your gift by choosing one of four different gift boxes.

You will not be able to send gifts if you are not at least level two. Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is also another requirement for sending gifts. You can only send gifts to players who have been on your friends list for more than 48 hours. Only skins and items sold in the Item Shop will be eligible for gifting, which means you will not be able to gift Battle Passes, Items that are part of Battle Pass Packs, and V-Bucks. Each player can send five gifts every day, and there is a 24-hour payback period before you can send more.
